ADB, Hong Kong’s Ove Arup offer help to Bataan transport

THE BUNKER, Bataan — Governor Joet S. Garcia revealed Friday that a sustainable provincial transport masterplan is being studied to improve the traffic flow and transportation system in the province with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong Ltd.

In their meeting held at the Bataan Tourism Center for the Dissemination of Study Findings Workshop headed by ABD, the group discussed the Bataan Transport Diagnostic Study, among others.

Program objective

The objective of the program, Gov. Garcia pointed out, is how to create a thorough study for a sustainable provincial transport masterplan that will improve the smooth flow of traffic and the system of transportation in Bataan.

A heavy volume of traffic is expected in Bataan once the Bataan-Cavite-Interlink-Bridge starts operation.

Former Bataan governor and now, Rep. Abet S. Garcia, proponent of the BCIB, said that based on the study, around five million vehicles will pass through said BCIB, through Roma expressway. yearly.

Also attending the meeting were representatives from various towns, offices and agencies that have something to do with the said transport program.

He added that the provincial governnent will continue to coordinate with various government agencies and other institutions in order to push for a smooth and close coordination with the community to hasten the economic development of Bataan.
