Artico Cold Chain, the cold storage arm of AyalaLand Logistics Holdings Corp. (ALLHC), is redefining sustainable logistics in the Philippines through green-certified infrastructure and renewable energy integration across its nationwide operations.
With seven sites located in Laguna, Cebu, Pampanga, Batangas, Pangasinan and Iloilo, Artico provides over 31,500 pallet positions of cold storage capacity to serve industries such as food, beverage, pharmaceuticals and industrial goods. This growing network enhances supply chain reliability, reduces transport inefficiencies, and strengthens the country’s logistics backbone.
According to the International Finance Corporation (IFC), emerging markets like the Philippines represent a $160-billion cold chain investment opportunity by 2050.
Achieving EDGE
Advanced Certification
Artico Biñan 1 recently earned the EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) Advanced certification, awarded by the Philippine Green Building Initiative (PGBI). The recognition signifies that the facility surpassed global green standards, achieving 55 percent energy savings, 26 percent water savings, and a 96 percent reduction in embodied carbon compared to local baselines.
“Achieving EDGE Advanced certification positions Artico at the forefront of sustainable cold storage,” said Amena Arif, Country Manager of IFC Philippines. “It demonstrates how Philippine logistics facilities can meet global standards for operational efficiency, net-zero readiness, and environmental stewardship.”
