A man was arrested for discharging a firearm in a populated area while in possession of illegal drugs at Barangay Sibul, Talavera, Nueva Ecija on 17 October 2025.
According to the Talavera Municipal Police Station (MPS), the police responded to a report from a concerned citizen regarding a male individual who was willfully discharging a firearm in a populated area at Brgy. Sibul, Talavera, Nueva Ecija.
Upon arrival, the responding officers apprehended the suspect and confiscated one unit Smith & Wesson caliber .38 revolver (without serial number) loaded with two live ammunition and one fired shell.
A body search also yielded one sachet of suspected shabu weighing approximately 4.0 grams, with an estimated street value of P27,200.
A criminal complaint for violation of Article 155 (Alarms and Scandals), Republic Act (R.A.) 10591, and R.A. 9165 is being prepared for inquest proceedings before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor.
This successful operation underscores the commitment of Talavera MPS under the supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel Rogelio L Pacificar Jr., Chief of Police, to maintain peace and order and ensure the safety of the community.
