CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A former Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) officer was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Bataan, yielding P830,280 worth of shabu, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) confirmed Friday.

Authorities identified the suspect only as alias 'DC,' 31, a dismissed BJMP personnel, during the 16 October operation in Barangay Daang Bago, Dinalupihan. Seized from the suspect were 122.10 grams of suspected shabu and marked money used in the transaction.

Brigadier General Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. Police Regional Office 3 director, linked the arrest to the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) intensified campaign against rogue personnel under Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.

“This arrest reflects our zero tolerance for abuses of authority, whether in active service or not. Accountability has no expiration,” Peñones said in a statement, commending operatives for the operation.

The suspect, whose identity remains protected under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, faces charges for violating drug laws. He is currently detained at the Dinalupihan Police Station.

PRO3 data reveal intensified anti-drug efforts in Central Luzon, with P217 million worth of illegal drugs seized in 1,023 operations since July 2025.
