In a bid for a strong push for environmental protection and disaster resilience, the Province of Bulacan will hold its first environmental summit tackling tackling flooding and garbage at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center on 17 October 2025.
Themed “Bulacan Kilos Laban sa Baha at Basura!,” the summit aims to strengthen the province’s collective efforts to address pressing environmental concerns particularly on flood control and solid waste management through a collaboration among local leaders, stakeholders, and environmental advocates.
Organized by the provincial government, the summit features presentations from two lead agencies, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO).
PDRRMO will lead the discussion on the current status of water waste and its possible link to flooding, as well as strategies to mitigate its impact on communities.
BENRO will spearhead discussions on waste management, environmental governance, and sustainable practices aimed at reducing pollution and preserving natural resources.
Local leaders from cities and municipalities across Bulacan, as well as key technical attendees, will gather at the event. This includes mayors and vice mayors, ABC presidents, members of the Sangguniang Bayan and Sangguniang Panlungsod, Sangguniang Kabataan presidents, City and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officers (C/MENROs), City and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officers (C/MDRRMOs), and chairpersons on the Committee on Environment from cities and municipalities across Bulacan.
The Provincial Solid Waste Management Board, led by Provincial Administrator Antonia V. Constantino, Engineer Randy H. Po, and other concerned officers, will join the group.
An open forum will follow the discussions, allowing participants to share insights, raise local concerns, and recommend actionable solutions for a cleaner, safer, and more resilient Bulacan.
