The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said it has seized more than P10.2 million worth of shabu and marijuana during a series of anti-drug operations conducted nationwide on 11 October.
PNP Acting Chief, P/LtGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units for their swift and coordinated actions, carried out in collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
“These successful operations demonstrate the PNP’s firm resolve to eradicate illegal drugs in every community and to protect our people from its destructive influence,” he said.
In Bohol, a High-Value Individual (HVI) was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted in Purok 4, Barangay Centro, Tubigon. Authorities seized 1,000 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P6.8 million. The suspect is currently under the custody of the Tubigon Municipal Police Station and will be facing appropriate criminal charges.
In Puerto Princesa City, law enforcement recovered 430 grams of suspected shabu worth P2.27 million along the seashore of Purok Mangingisda, Barangay Bagong Bayan. The confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to the Puerto Princesa City Field Unit for proper handling and disposition.
In Benguet, a joint operation by the Benguet Provincial Police Office and PDEA-CAR led to the eradication of 5,680 fully grown marijuana plants in Sitio Bakugan, Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan. The destroyed plants had an estimated value of P1.136 million.
In Maguindanao del Norte, authorities confiscated 250 grams of shabu valued at P1.7 million during an operation in Barangay Poblacion Dalican, Datu Odin Sinsuat.
The anti-drug operations are part of the PNP’s Focus Agenda under the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which aims to bolster operational efficiency and strengthen community engagement.
In total, law enforcement units seized P10,215,000.00 worth of illegal drugs and arrested one suspect during the 11 October operations.
The PNP assures the public of its continued efforts to pursue both high-value and street-level drug personalities in the ongoing campaign to maintain safe, drug-free communities across the nation.
