All airports under the jurisdiction of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) remain fully operational following the magnitude 7.6 earthquake that struck Davao Oriental on Friday.
CAAP said initial reports showed no major damage to airport facilities nationwide. However, minor cracks were seen in the logistics building of Dipolog Airport.
Further structural assessments to ensure the safety of personnel and passengers are being conducted by engineering teams.
Two Manila–Davao commercial flights were also diverted as a precautionary measure. Flight GAP2813 (Manila–Davao) was diverted to the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, while flight CEB963 (Manila–Davao) was rerouted to the General Santos International Airport.
CAAP assured passengers that airport operations continue as normal and that it remains in coordination with airlines, local authorities, and disaster response agencies in monitoring developments.
