The last of the film master that not only made a mark but shaped the golden era of Philippine movies, Mike de Leon, passed away at 78.

De Leon’s most impressive body of work include Itim, Kisapmata, Sister Stella L., Batch ’81, Kakabakaba Ka Ba and Citizen Jake.

His films, containing stirring commentaries about Filipino culture, faith, morality, society and politics, will forever remain relevant and part of the history of Philippine cinema.
