The gateway to Cagayan Valley is opening its doors to the world. From 15 to 17 August 15 to 17, Tuguegarao City will host the 15th Regional Travel Fair (RTF), a flagship project of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, the marketing and promotions arm of the Department of Tourism (DOT).
Dubbed as one of the country’s premier travel-trade events, the RTF brings together tourism stakeholders, businesses, and travelers in a celebration of culture, heritage, and exploration—this time highlighting the untapped beauty of Region II, Northeastern Luzon.
The Regional Travel Fair is more than an exhibition; it is part of the DOT’s continuing mission to equalize tourism across the archipelago by shining the spotlight on destinations beyond the usual travel circuits. Northeastern Luzon—comprising Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino—offers a wealth of experiences, from heritage landmarks and natural wonders to culinary treasures and vibrant cultural traditions.
“We are proud to bring the 15th Regional Travel Fair to Tuguegarao City, a place that naturally captivates with its breathtaking landscapes and deep-rooted traditions,” said TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles. “Through this initiative, we aim to strengthen regional pride and empower tourism stakeholders by bringing attention to the distinct experiences that make Tuguegarao City truly special.”
On 15 August, the event kicks off with a Business-to-Business (B2B) session at the Pulsar Hotel and Convention Center. Here, 50 buyers and 53 sellers/exhibitors—ranging from hotels and airlines to tour operators and provincial tourism offices—will engage in structured networking.
This exchange is designed to spark collaborations and new travel packages, giving local tourism enterprises the opportunity to expand their reach while giving buyers unique experiences to bring to market.
From 16 to 17 August, the fair opens its doors to the public with Business-to-Consumer (B2C) sessions at Robinsons Tuguegarao. Visitors can avail themselves of:
• Discounted tour packages across the Philippines
• Promotional airfare and accommodations
• Travel-related products and services
To complement the travel deals, the event will feature cultural performances, interactive games, and presentations from DOT regional offices and partner sponsors, giving visitors a taste of local artistry and tradition.
To further highlight the region’s tourism potential, the TPB has organized familiarization tours for exhibitors, buyers, and sponsors. These include visits to heritage sites like the Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center, Horno Ruins, and St. Peter Metropolitan Cathedral, as well as natural wonders such as Callao Cave and the Pinacanauan River.
By experiencing these destinations firsthand, stakeholders will be better equipped to promote them to both domestic and international markets.
The 15th Regional Travel Fair is a celebration of opportunity: for travelers to discover new destinations, for local businesses to expand their networks, and for communities to share their unique stories.
In boosting domestic tourism and opening new doors for Northeastern Luzon, the TPB and DOT reaffirm their commitment to creating meaningful, sustainable, and inclusive growth across the country.
For travelers eager to find their next adventure, the fair is not just an event—it is an invitation. Come to Tuguegarao City and experience the best that the Cagayan Valley and beyond have to offer.
