American film and television producer Jeremy Bruckheimer revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Johnny Depp may return to the Pirates of the Carribean film if he “likes the way the part’s written.”

“I think he would do it. It's all about what's on the page, as we all know,” he said.

Disney cut ties with Depp when his ex-wife, Amber Heard, published an op-ed on domestic abuse.

“It’s all about what’s on the page, as we all know We are still working on a screenplay. We want to make it. We just got to get the right screenplay. We haven’t quite gotten there yet, but we’re close," Bruckheimer added.

The last Pirates film is Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Me Tell No Tales (2017). A sixth film had been in discussion since 2019.
