SM Foundation ramps up farmers’ training

DT

SM Foundation is expanding its Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) program, an initiative that provides farmers with modern agricultural skills and connects them to market opportunities.

As of 2024, the foundation has conducted more than 400 training sessions for over 32,000 farmers nationwide. The program focuses on modern and market-oriented farming techniques to improve farmers’ productivity and income.

The foundation recently began a new training session for 100 farmers in Cagayan de Oro on 8 August.

SM Foundation has also marked the completion of training for several groups, including 100 farmers in San Juan, Batangas, on 6 August and another 100 farmers from Sariaya and San Andres, Quezon on 13 August.

The foundation said it plans to expand the KSK program to more regions this year to support food security and create new opportunities for farmers.
