Munti achievers shine in engineering, sports

Muntinlupa City beams with pride as two of its citizens bring national and international recognition in their respective fields. 

Patricia Isabel Soriano of Brgy. Cupang ranked first out of 799 examinees in the May 2025 Chemical Engineers Computer-Based Licensure Examination with a rating of 88.60. 

Soriano is a magna cum laude graduate from De La Salle University-Manila and has published papers on fuel treatment and energy storage in international conferences. 

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon said on Tuesday that the city government will award Soriano with a cash incentive of P100,000, a medal, and a certificate of recognition through the Muntinlupa Scholarship Division. 

Meanwhile, in the field of sports, Kaila Napolis, from Brgy. Poblacion won silver at the 12th edition of The World Games in Chengdun, China last 10 August. 

Napolis is set to have another chance of winning another medal in the open division on Tuesday at the Jianyang Cultural and Sports Centre Gymnasium. 

Previously, she scored gold medals at the 2023 World Combat Games in Saudi Arabia and the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia, and a bronze at the 19th Asian Games in China.
