Marvin Asis came tumbling down after sustaining a 10-4 loss in the Round of 16 opposite Van Boening Sunday in the Florida Open Pool Championship in Orlando.
His defeat left the Philippines without a single player in the tournament.
Still, Asis did well in his campaign.
In the Round of 64, he defeated Albert Juanata of Indonesia in the Round of 64, 10-2, before following it up with a 10-8 triumph over Polish Konrad Juszczyszyn of Poland in the Round of 32 last Saturday.
The 25-year-old pool player is set to take home $4,000 (P227,000) for making it to the Last 16.
Asis was part of the seven Filipinos who made it to the Last 64.
World champion Carlo Biado pulled off a 10-5 win over Vitaly Pastura of Ukraine in the Round of 64, before losing to former European champion Mickey Krause of Denmark, 6-10, in the Last 32.
