Two Vietnamese nationals were arrested for illegal medical practice in Makati City, the Southern Police District (SPD) said.
The suspects, identified as alias “Van,” 36 and “Thi,” 35 were arrested Thursday afternoon in an entrapment operation at a beauty clinic along Salamanca Street in Barangay Poblacion.
They were caught in the act of performing aesthetic procedures including botox injections and dermal fillers.
The operation was carried out following verified information from an informant regarding the suspects’ unauthorized medical activities.
SPD said they failed to present a valid license to practice or accreditation authorizing both of them to perform medical procedures in the country.
In a statement on Friday, authorities confirmed that the suspects have reportedly been living and operating in the Philippines for about a year.
Recovered during the operation were boxes and vials of Botulax and Botox, mesotherapy solutions and fillers, syringes, microcannula needles, other surgical tools and supplies, anaesthesia, receipts and invoices.
The suspects are under the custody of District Special Operations Unit for filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 2382 or The Medical Act of 1959.
