After sweeping all their group stage matches in Group G, the Philippine women’s national football team climbed two spots in the latest FIFA rankings — reclaiming its place among the top 40 countries in women’s football.
Fresh off an unbeaten run, the Filipinas have also bolstered their coaching staff with the addition of Australian Mark Torcaso, named A-League Women’s Coach of the Year for the 2022–23 season — a key reinforcement as they continue their international campaign.
Despite the absence of star striker Sarina Bolden, the Filipinas are set to face Timor Leste at the ASEAN Women’s Serenity Cup later today at 8:30 p.m., with the scoring burden now falling on Chandler McDaniel.
The team defeated Hong Kong (1–0), Cambodia (6–0), and Saudi Arabia (3–0) in the AFC Women’s Qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
