Brad Pitt’s family is mourning the loss of his mother, Jane Etta Pitt, who passed away Tuesday.
In an Instagram post, Brad’s niece Sydney Pitt, daughter of his brother Doug, grieved the death of her grandmother by sharing memories spent together with the family.
She wrote that the family was not ready for her passing but finds comfort in knowing her grandmother can now freely sing, dance, and paint.
“My sweet Grammy, Jane Etta, we were not ready for you to go yet but knowing you are finally free to sing, dance and paint again makes it a tad easier.”
Jane was often present at Brad’s many red carpet events, including the 2012 Oscars and the 2014 premiere of his movie Unbroken. She was a loving mother and grandmother to 14 grandchildren.
Sydney also wrote that the family was truly blessed to have a grandmother like her, whose life will live on through all of them.
“We were truly blessed to have her to love on growing up and I know she lives on through each of us.”
