Five Miss Philippines Earth 2025 candidates joined coast guards, police, soldiers and other volunteers in the relief operations of Bloomberry Cultural Foundation Inc. and Solaire Cares on 1 August.
BCFI, the corporate social responsibility arm of Solaire Resort and Casino, partnered with the Philippine National Police’s Maritime Group, Philippine Coast Guard and Miss Earth Philippines to distribute sacks of rice to residents of Isla Puting Bato in Tondo, Manila 1 August after the urban coastal community was recently battered by a series of typhoons and heavy monsoon rains.
They also distributed rice to more than 600 families affected by the recent flooding and storms in Barangay Sapang Uno, Ternate, Cavite and in Bani, Pangasinan.
The presence of the Miss Earth Philippines candidates brought smiles to both beneficiaries and co-volunteers during the relief operation.
They are Ellamarie Andricoso representing San Fernando, Bukidnon; Maria Erra Ocon representing Impasug-ong, Bukidnon; Faith Laurese Edwards of Bacolod City representing the Filipino Community of Tampa, Florida, USA; Abegail Manangan representing Cabatuan, Isabela; Athens Lodevico representing Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya; and Vanessa Kang representing Zamboanga City-West Coast.
“After the recent typhoon, I’m so SO grateful to have worked with Bloomberry to provide relief,” read a Facebook post from Edwards. She adds: “It felt so uplifting to truly connect with a team and help our community, I couldn’t force myself to sit down! I learned so much about what it means to lean on your neighbors, and just how far one singular mission can go. Thank you for the opportunity, and thank you to Solaire for providing our launch and landing grounds.”
