The OFW Hospital in San Fernando, Pampanga is seeking partnerships with other agencies to enhance and expand services and make hospitalization convenient for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and beneficiaries.
In a statement, Head of the OFW Hospital Ancillary Services Dr. Goldwin Posadas said they are in talks with the Department of Social and Welfare Development (DSWD) and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
Posadas said the partnerships, if pursued, could allow OFWs and their families to access other forms of assistance, including help with transportation and burial costs.
The hospital implements a zero-balance billing policy, with funding sourced from PhilHealth and the Department of Health’s Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients (MAIFIP) program.
Meanwhile, several developments are underway for the hospital.
Among which are the installation of a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine, in-house drug testing, and the introduction of diagnostic procedures such as pulmonary function testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and treadmill stress tests.
Currently operating as a Level 1 health facility, the OFW Hospital filed an application for Level 2 licensing last 4 July.
