Nicole Gan of Immaculate Conception Academy surged to the top of the leaderboard after ruling the girls’ 13-15 division in the opening leg of the Superkit Junior Elite Golf Tour, held at the Vineyard Golf Club in Tanauan, Batangas.
Gan earned 100 points for her division win, placing her in a 10-way tie for the lead in the Order of Merit standings after Round 1. Sharing the top spot with her are fellow division champions: Timothy Lim (boys’ 16-18), David Gothong (boys’ 13-15), Kraig Tee (boys’ 10-12), Kenji Yamada (boys’ 8-9), Alonso Fabul (boys’ 5-7), Sydney Eusebio (girls’ 16-18), Penelope Sy (girls’ 10-12), Andrea Dee (girls’ 8-9), and Ashleigh Remo (girls’ 5-7).
With their victories, all 10 young golfers have automatically secured berths in the season-ending grand finals scheduled for December.
The Superkit Junior Elite Golf Tour, which gathers the country’s most promising junior golfers, aims to foster competitive experience, sportsmanship, and long-term development in a tour-style setting. Each leg awards Order of Merit points, with consistent performance across multiple events key to earning a spot in the final showdown.
The next leg of the tour is set to feature even stiffer competition, as young players across all divisions aim to climb the OOM rankings and secure their place in the elite field for year’s end.
