A total of 33 patients were treated for dengue at Escolastica Romero District Hospital on Sunday.

According to Governor Lilia Pineda, the patients include 16 senior citizens and pregnant women, while the remaining 17 are children, including a two-year-old from various barangays in Lubao and nearby towns.

Hospital officials reported a 50 percent increase in dengue cases compared to the same period last year.

Governor Pineda visited the hospital on Sunday to distribute financial assistance to the affected families.

Doctors urged the public to remain vigilant, warning that dengue is a serious and potentially lethal viral infection. They reminded residents to watch for symptoms such as fever, headache, bleeding of the nose and gums, vomiting, diarrhea, and skin rashes.

“Walang dapat bayaran ang mga pasyenteng naka-admit sa pampublikong ospital,” Gov. Pineda assured.
