The Quezon City government will implement a liquor ban on Monday in preparation for the upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA) by President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Acting Director, P/Col. Randy Glenn Silvio, announced that the liquor ban will be strictly enforced in Quezon City from 12:01 AM to 6:00 PM on 28 July.
Silvio clarified that the ban is in accordance with Executive Order No. 9, Series of 2025, entitled “An Order Implementing a Liquor Ban in Quezon City on 28 July 2025, in View of the 4th State of the Nation Address of President Marcos Jr.”
Under the order, the sale, distribution, and consumption of alcoholic beverages will be strictly prohibited during the specified hours. This measure aims to maintain peace, ensure public safety, and prevent any untoward incidents that could disrupt the security preparations for the President’s annual address.
Violators of the liquor ban may face appropriate penalties in accordance with existing laws and local ordinances.
The QCPD has urged all residents, business owners, and visitors to cooperate with the directive for the safety and security of all. The public is also encouraged to report any violations through the Emergency Hotline 911 or QC Helpline 122.
“Ang Team QCPD ay handang-handa na para sa SONA 2025. Sa lahat ng QCitizens, please be guided by the laws, rules and regulations being implemented by the city government upang maiwasan ang anumang kaguluhan at maisakatuparan ng payapa, maayos, at ligtas ang magaganap na SONA 2025,” Silvio said.
