Possible comeback of Angel Locsin stirs fans

All the years the well-loved Locsin stayed away from showbiz and social media, she remained happily married to Neil Arce, who belongs to a popular business clan in the country.

Looks like actor Angel Locsin is gearing to rejoin showbiz after a hiatus of almost three years. And she’s doing so for the sake of a member of her family.

But, no, it’s not for money’s sake. It’s in support of a grown-up stepson, Joaquin Arce.

LOCSIN and her clan have always tended to be very private.

All the years the well-loved Locsin stayed away from showbiz and social media, she remained happily married to Neil Arce, who belongs to a popular business clan in the country. It’s the clan that used to own Selecta ice cream and Selecta restaurant along Roxas Blvd., a favorite hangout of artists since it was just around the CCP Complex.

The young Arce is interested in joining showbiz, and his stepmom helped announce it by posting his video made for ABS-CBN’s Star Magic on her social media, Instagram story on 24 July.

“Me, your mom & your dad are proud of you,” Locsin proclaimed, followed by a heart emoji.

Locsin quickly added: “Can’t wait to act with you!”

Locsin’s punchline prompted her netizen fans to sit up and expect a showbiz comeback for her.

The fans went to town re-posting her Instagram story on X (formerly Twitter), thus making the actor’s name trend immediately.

A health condition that made her gain weight seems to have been the reason Locsin stopped accepting showbiz engagements. She practically went into a seeming seclusion as she also stopped engaging in social media.

It’s unthinkable that she and her husband did not go out at all. It could be that they occasionally went out in disguise and chose places which were exclusive and unreachable to her myriad fans.

Locsin and her husband’s clan have always tended to be very private. The actor Roel Vergel de Dios belonged to that clan. And so did a sometime singer Ramir Arce Romero.

Locsin’s last Instagram posting was on 1 August 2022.

Her last screen appearance was in Iba Yan, a docu-series in 2020 dealing with the spirit of generosity and sense of compassion of the Filipinos during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Her last full-length series was The General’s Daughter on ABS-CBN in 2019.

Meanwhile, pets are the happiest and healthiest at Robinsons Malls.

Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) recognizes pets as part of the Filipino family. For more than ten years now, Robinsons Malls have been welcoming pets and fur parents in its establishments — providing them safe, shared spaces and allowing them to spend more quality time together.

The corporation, through its Robinsons Malls Happy Pets Club, enables fur parents to provide their furbabies the best care possible. In partnership with the Quezon City Local Government Unit, RLC offers free services to pet communities and advocates for responsible pet parenting. These pet wellness services are Pet Bakuna, Pet Kosulta, Snip ‘en Snap and The Gift of Furever Home.

Pet Bakuna, an anti-rabies vaccination drive, helps pet parents follow best practices in pet care and ensures their furry companions are protected from the deadly disease.

Pet Konsulta is a program aimed at providing convenient and accessible vet care. Vet consultation is an important responsibility of every fur parent as it enables them to monitor their pet’s health, prevent possible illnesses and ensure that their fur babies are in good shape.

Another pet service is the spay and neuter operations called Snip ‘en Snap. Spaying and neutering have their long-term health benefits, such as preventing the development of reproductive illnesses. Likewise, it contributes to a more compassionate and sustainable approach to managing the overpopulation of unplanned litter.

The last one, The Gift of Furever Home, is a pet adoption activity close to all animal lovers’ hearts. This adoption drive is focused on finding loving and permanent homes for rescued cats and dogs. Interested adopters undergo thorough screening, background checks, and interviews until they find their purrfect match.

In the recent World Zoonoses Day celebrated in Robinsons Galleria, more than 101 pets participated in the Snip’en Snap; 133 pets availed of Pet Bakuna; 32 benefited from Pet Konsulta; and 5 rescued animals were successfully adopted.

The advocacy doesn’t stop there. Robinsons Land will continue to ramp up its initiatives in the upcoming International Cat Day celebration on 8 August at Robinsons Novaliches. It will be a day specially dedicated to felines and cat parents.

In partnership with QC LGU, all pet wellness services will be given free to all QC residents. Apart from the freebies and fun activities, fur parents will also be invited to take part in pet talks focusing on cat health and hygiene, and get a chance to be new moms and dads to rescued cats which will be up for adoption on the same day.

HAPPY pets Club with Robinsons Land.
