The Gawad Rosa Rosal Legacy Awards is one of the highest honors bestowed upon individuals whose lives are lived in service of others. Now on its third year, the award celebrates extraordinary Filipinos whose legacies mirror that of the great Rosa Rosal — selfless, enduring and quietly powerful.
Rosa Rosal was not just a screen icon — she was a symbol of humanitarian grace. Rosa Rosal’s legacy continues through this award — by honoring those who, like her, give not just time or treasure, but their whole heart.
A rare honor
For the third time, business leader Maria Cecilia “Cecille” Tria-Bravo is receiving the Gawad Rosa Rosal Legacy Award — an unprecedented recognition that reflects not just consistent service, but a love for others so deep, it cannot be measured.
Bravo is in the business of telecommunications infrastructure, the company she helps lead championing sustainable building solutions. Not only is she involved in helping the planet, she is also committed to helping others.
“Walang talagang kapantay si Cecille Bravo pagdating sa walang sawang suporta, (Cecille Bravo has no equal when it comes to lending support),” said Richard Hinola, Awards founder. “Wala siyang pinipiling tulungan — bata, matanda, may kaya o kapos. Kahit abala, hindi niya kami kinakalimutan (She lends her assistance to all – young, old, those who can afford or the less fortunate. Even when she is busy, she never forgets us).”
Three’s the charm
Some may ask — why honor her again? The answer is simple: because she never stopped.
While others pause, Bravo continues. While others move on, she stays. In silence, in shadows, in storms — she is always there. Her kindness does not fade with the spotlight. It grows deeper, stronger, more generous.
This award does not simply celebrate Bravo’s achievements. It affirms her essence. It tells the world: this is what love looks like in action.
Ongoing impact
Ongoing nationwide is her support for feeding programs, educational scholarships, relief goods and livelihood drives. She is a lifelong ally of Best Magazine’s mission to serve underserved communities. She is a champion of unity who continues to support various organizations beyond her own, building bridges not walls. She is a human lighthouse who offers direction, warmth and light to those navigating darkness.
In these trying times, women like Cecille Bravo never ask to be celebrated, but choose every day to love, give and serve. For the third time, she is honored. And still, no award could ever fully capture the love she gives so freely.
