The Office of the Vice President (OVP), through the Disaster Operations Center, on Thursday distributed the much-needed aid to communities affected by the combined impact of Typhoon Crising and the southwest monsoon, or habagat.
The OVP has allocated assistance for approximately 3,446 affected families in the towns of Balungao and Umingan in Pangasinan.
As of 24 July, at least 1,200 affected families in Balungao have received relief boxes from the OVP-DOC.
The OVP will also distribute additional 2,443 relief and food boxes to the affected families in Umingan on Friday, 25 July.
Each relief box contains food packs, hygiene kits, blankets, sleeping mats, mosquito nets (kulambo), slippers, expandable water jugs, and other essential supplies.
To date, the OVP-DOC has distributed around 6,000 relief boxes to residents affected by the inclement weather since the start of the week, particularly in Western Visayas, Northern Luzon, and the National Capital Region or Metro Manila.
