Ambassador Endo Kazuya joined the 44th Philippines-Japan Friendship Celebration and Medal of Merit Conferment Ceremony on 21 July 2025, honoring the strong and growing ties between Japan and the Philippines. The event was organized by the Philippines-Japan Society (PJS), which has long celebrated individuals who play a key role in strengthening bilateral relations.
This year’s Medal of Merit was awarded to Mr. Roberto Castillo, former chairman of the Philippines-Japan Economic Cooperation Committee. He was recognized for his contributions to enhancing cooperation between the two countries and was warmly feted during the ceremony.
In his remarks, Ambassador Endo thanked the organizers and highlighted the importance of continued support from the PJS and its partners.
During his speech, Ambassador Endo expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the PJS and its partners for their continued support. He also shared his anticipation for next year’s celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Normalization of Japan and the Philippines’ Diplomatic Relations and in making it a “year of friendship to remember.”
The annual event reaffirmed the Philippines and Japan’s shared commitment to friendship and mutual cooperation, setting the tone for a milestone celebration in the coming year.
