The Lynk & Co 02 has just set a new benchmark in car safety. The compact electric SUV earned a full 5-star rating from the Euro NCAP, the independent body known for putting cars through some of the toughest crash and safety tests in the world.
This makes the 02 the safest compact SUV tested so far in 2025 by Euro NCAP.
What stood out most was its 89 percent score in the Safety Assist category, one of the highest ever recorded under Euro NCAP’s current testing standards. This means the vehicle’s tech like automatic emergency braking, speed limit alerts, lane keeping systems, and driver monitoring all performed impressively well.
David Green, Lynk & Co’s VP for Product & Strategy, says safety has always been central to the brand’s goals. “With the Lynk & Co 02, we’ve raised the bar not just for ourselves but for the entire segment,” he said.
The 02 is built with serious protection in mind. It scored 90 percent for adult occupant protection, 87 percent for children, and 83 percent for vulnerable road users like cyclists and pedestrians. In crash simulations, its structure held up well, absorbing impact while keeping passengers safe. Dummy readings showed good protection for knees, chest, head, basically all the critical parts that count in a real crash.
The 02’s strong showing in safety is not just limited to Europe. It’s now available in the Philippines through UAAGI (United Asia Automotive Group Inc.), joining its sibling, the Lynk & Co 01, which also scored high marks in previous Euro NCAP tests.
As for the driving experience, the 02 does 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds, powered by a 272 PS motor that delivers 343 Nm of torque. It’s got a range of 435 km on a full charge (WLTP), and can go from 10 percent to 80 percent battery in about 30 minutes.
But more than just a spec sheet, the Lynk & Co 02 is shaping up to be one of the most well-rounded EVs out there in a way that’s hard to ignore.
