Coldplay's concert brought the audience more than just music; it also gave the internet its next real-life soap opera.
When Coldplay took the stage in Foxborough, Massachusetts on Wednesday night, no one anticipated the concert to double as the scene for a romance bombshell. But because of the band's trademark kiss cam moment, in which frontman Chris Martin interacts with randomly picked fans, two lives (and possibly a marriage) were forever transformed.
As the camera scanned the throng, it came across a couple locked in an intimate embrace. The moment appeared romantic — until internet detectives immediately recognized the man as Andy Byron, CEO of AI startup Astronomer, and the woman as his company's head of human resources. The fallout was fast and furious.
The next day, Megan Kerrigan, Byron's actual wife, had deleted her whole Facebook account, which had previously shown wholesome family photos. Gone were the photos of the couple smiling with their two sons on treks and at graduations. Her cover photo, a pleasant creekside family image, has vanished. She even erased her marital surname from her social media profiles.
Who is Megan Kerrigan?
Kerrigan, 50, is a well-known educator in Massachusetts and serves as Associate Director at the Bancroft School, where she oversees admissions for the Hope Graham Program and Lower School.
Known for her work in inclusive education, she has traditionally kept a quiet profile until recently. She is now at the center of a viral infidelity scandal that is causing TikTok and Reddit to explode.
According to reports, Kerrigan’s social media edits were made just hours after the kiss cam video made its rounds online, suggesting serious marital turbulence.
And that turbulence might get expensive.
Millions of split?
Assets acquired during a seven-year or longer marriage are normally divided 50/50 under Massachusetts law. Additionally, Byron's estimated net worth ranges from $20 million to $70 million, per Economic Times. If Kerrigan decides to file for divorce, she might end up with tens of millions.
Little is known about how the couple's two children are dealing with the aftermath. Neither Byron nor Kerrigan have issued a public comment, and there is no word yet on whether the couple intends to reconcile or split up.
