Operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested three suspects for illegal possession of firearms in separate operations conducted by the Talipapa Police Station (PS 3) and Novaliches Police Station (PS 4) in Quezon City.

QCPD Acting Chief, Police Col. Randy Glenn Silvio, said in the first operation, operatives from PS 3, led by P/Lt. Col. Christopher Francis Siriban, arrested alias “Eulogio,” 84 years old, a resident of Brgy. North Fairview, Quezon City, at 7:30 p.m. on July 18, 2025, along Quirino Highway corner Joaquin Street, Brgy. Baesa, Quezon City, following a vehicular accident involving the suspect.

While preparing to tow the suspect's vehicle, the officers noticed a firearm placed on the dashboard. When asked to present the necessary documents for the firearm, the suspect failed to present any, which resulted in his arrest.

Recovered from his possession was one (1) Glock 23C Austria caliber .40 pistol, with a magazine loaded with seven (7) live ammunition.

Upon verification through the Investigation Solution Automatic Verification (ISAV) system, it was revealed that the accused had previous cases for violation of Reckless Imprudence Resulting to Damage to Property in October 2021 and November 2023.

On the other hand, PS 4 operatives under P/Lt. Col. Aljun Belista arrested alias “Jomar,” 26 years old, and alias “Benjamin,” 41 years old, both residents of Brgy. San Bartolome, Novaliches, Quezon City.

Silvio said at around 3:30 a.m. on July 19, 2025, PS 4 operatives were patrolling along Katipunan Street corner East Los Angeles Street, Brgy. San Bartolome, when they noticed two male individuals on board a black Yamaha Aerox motorcycle who suddenly stopped near a Papa Burger outlet.

Sensing suspicious behavior, the officers immediately called for backup and approached the suspects. One of them, alias “Benjamin,” was seen holding a revolver with a black holster, and swiftly handed it over to alias “Jomar,” prompting the operatives to order both individuals to lie face down on the pavement.

When asked to present documents for the firearm, the suspects failed to present any, resulting in their arrest.

Confiscated from the suspects were one (1) Smith & Wesson caliber .38 revolver loaded with six (6) live ammunition, one (1) Yamaha Aerox motorcycle, one (1) sling bag, and one (1) firearm holster.

Through the ISAV system, it was revealed that alias “Benjamin” had a previous case for violation of R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) in June 2025.

Alias “Eulogio” was charged for violation of R.A. 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, while aliases “Jomar” and “Benjamin” will also be charged with the same offense before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

“The swift response of our personnel demonstrates our unwavering commitment to public safety. Through proactive patrols and vigilance under the directive of our CPNP, PGen Nicolas Torre III, to get rid of criminals on the street, our operatives successfully apprehended the suspects and recovered illegal firearms. I commend PS 3 and PS 4 for their professionalism and dedication to duty,” Silvio said.
