Why Camille Prats is taking a respite from doing teleseryes

‘Truly grateful to have explored this different side of my creativity.’

For now, Mommy Dearest will be Camille Prats’ last acting project as she reached a resolve to temporarily stop acting.

This, as Mommy Dearest reaches its climactic finish this week.

“As #MommyDearest reaches its finale week, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for embracing Olive. When GMA offered me this role, it wasn’t a difficult decision to make. What I didn’t realize was how much I had been longing — as an actress — to take on a character different from the ones I usually portray: the kind-hearted, often oppressed protagonist,” Prats wrote in her Facebook account.

With her character Olive Caparas, Prats “breathed new life into my passion for acting.” She was “truly grateful to have explored this different side of my creativity.”

“A heartfelt thank you to direk

@ginalajar for laying the foundation of this character and for your steady guidance, especially during our early taping days,” she wrote, extending her gratitude to her co-actors  “for opening your hearts to me” and  the staff and crew for taking good care of her even off-cam.

She particularly thanked Amy Austria “for always feeding not just our stomachs but also our hearts, grateful that we get to share our faith journey with each other.”

Prats also expressed gratitude to “Direk @ralfhmanuelmalabunga for guiding me and pushing me for more,” and the creatives “for such a beautifully written piece.”

But while “this project is especially close to my heart,” Prats has “decided to take a break from doing seryes for now, to devote more time to my growing children and family.”

“Turns out, hindi ko pala kayang hatiin ang katawan ko (I couldn’t do everything with one body) — and while I deeply love what I do and remain incredibly grateful for the support you’ve shown this project, I’m being called to be a wife and mom first,” she concluded.
