Two delivery service companies are in talks with Kapampangan parol makers to ensure their products are shipped safely and securely.
According to the city government of San Fernando, Federal Express and 2GO are discussing shipping services through the “Pasko Express Padala Program” with Fernandino lantern makers at the Heroes Hall here on 18 July 2025.
The talks regarding the shipping of traditional Kapampangan parols are being held ahead of the Ber months to prepare for peak-season adjustments in delivery services.
The activity, held in partnership with the City Tourism and Investment Promotions Office (CTIPO) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), catered to a number of micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in San Fernando, including local lantern makers and sellers of holiday products such as food, crafts, and home décor.
Speakers from organizing companies presented various logistics and shipping options, including how to reach more regions in the Philippines and abroad, along with useful marketing tools and other business advice—especially for those aiming to expand nationally and internationally.
Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag stated in her virtual message that Fernandino MSMEs now have more and better options when exporting their products, and that the coaching would undoubtedly be successful thanks to the companies’ established reputations in the logistics industry.
Among the speakers from the government sector were DTI Pampanga Director Elenita Ordonio and CTIP Officer Ching Pangilinan, along with key officers from 2GO and FedEx, including retail officers Ivan Paul Briones, Blessie Cruz, Ingrid Salud, and Loriedane Gamayo.
