SM Investments Corporation, one of the country’s largest conglomerates, solidified its regional reputation for corporate governance and sustainability after receiving seven key distinctions at the 15th Asian Excellence Awards hosted by Corporate Governance Asia on 18 July in Pasay City.
The awards highlight the group’s exemplary leadership in governance, environmental responsibility, and stakeholder engagement – core pillars of long-term business value recognized across Asia’s corporate landscape.
Among the top honors, SM Investments President and CEO Frederic DyBuncio was named Asia’s Best CEO, while Executive Vice Presidents Erwin Pato and Franklin Gomez were both awarded Asia’s Best CFO, underscoring the group’s strong financial stewardship.
“We are deeply honored by these awards, which reflect the collective effort of our people across the SM Group," DyBuncio said.
"Our commitment to long-term value creation, sustainability, and sound governance remains core to how we operate and grow."
The company also brought home accolades for Sustainable Asia, Best CSR, Best Corporate Communications, and Best Investor Relations Company (Philippines), completing a seven-award sweep for the second consecutive year.
With this year’s theme, “The Role of Asian Corporations to Climate Neutrality,” the event emphasized the growing expectations for corporations to embrace sustainability and transparency as part of business leadership.
The Asian Excellence Awards, established in 2011, recognize top-performing companies in Asia for excellence in management, financial performance, ESG efforts, and investor relations.
