Starting this July, electric vehicle owners in the Philippines can now find and use Shell Recharge stations right from the Evro app, thanks to a new partnership between Shell Pilipinas and EV platform Evro.
The move is a first for the country: a true “roaming” setup that allows EV users to tap into multiple charging networks using just one app. Until now, drivers often had to juggle different accounts and apps just to charge at different stations. With Evro now linked to Shell’s network, the experience becomes smoother and simpler.
The official signing happened last 10 July at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. As of today, 10 Shell Recharge locations are already live on the Evro app, with more on the way by September.
“A sustainable and convenient EV lifestyle is only possible with the efficiency of the tools and infrastructure that support it. This is the shared vision that Evro and Shell Pilipinas are both committed to making a reality, identifying the gaps in users’ experience and resolving them,” Paulo Canivel, general manager, Evro. “With this partnership, we are simplifying the charging journey for EV drivers and likewise setting the foundation for a more connected and convenient e-mobility ecosystem nationwide.”
Evro describes itself as the Philippines’ first brand-neutral EV mobility service provider (eMSP). In simple terms, it’s like having one SIM card that works across all mobile networks — but for charging EVs.
Using the app, EV drivers can now locate, monitor and pay for charging at various Shell Recharge sites and other partner stations. It works with different charge point operators (CPOs), including those not formally partnered with Evro, so that you can plug in almost anywhere without hassle.
The initial rollout of the Evro-Shell partnership includes 10 Shell Recharge locations now available through the Evro app. These stations are a mix of high-speed chargers at expressway stops and more accessible chargers in popular urban areas and shopping centers.
Among the expressway locations are Shell SLEX Mamplasan in Laguna and Shell TPLEX Rosario Exit in La Union. Both sites are equipped with two 180kW DC fast chargers and two 22kW AC chargers, giving EV drivers the flexibility to top up quickly or do a slower charge during longer stops.
Within city centers, Shell Recharge stations are now live at various commercial destinations. In Metro Manila, drivers can find chargers at Seven | NEO in Taguig, Estancia Mall, Greenhills Connecticut, and Greenhills Missouri. Each site is outfitted with 22kW AC chargers, ranging from two to four units depending on the location.
More Shell Recharge points are also available in major Robinsons malls, including Robinsons Manila, Robinsons Galleria and Robinsons Magnolia. These locations add to the convenience of charging while shopping, dining, or running errands.
Together, Evro and Shell are removing key barriers such as confusing charging options and app fatigue, making it easier and more convenient for Filipinos to transition to electric vehicles with confidence.
