In a continued effort to strengthen emergency response services across the country, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) turned over five Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs) to various military units and a local government unit on Tuesday, 16 July.
This move aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to expand access to emergency medical services in high-risk and underserved communities.
The beneficiaries of the latest PTV donations include the Municipality of Liliw in Laguna; the 7th Infantry Division, Light Reaction Regiment, and Fort Magsaysay Army Station Hospital of the Philippine Army in Nueva Ecija; and the Headquarters Force Reconnaissance Group of the Philippine Marines in Ternate, Cavite.
The turnover ceremony was held at the PAGCOR Corporate Office in Pasay and led by PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco.
“These donations are part of our ongoing commitment to boost the government’s emergency response efforts, especially in areas where every second can mean the difference between life and death,” Tengco said. “It also reflects PAGCOR’s commitment to national service beyond gaming as ordered by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.”
The newly donated vehicles are expected to enhance the recipients’ capacity for life-saving transport and medical evacuation, especially during natural disasters, conflict, and military operations.
Lt. Col. Arsen Boy D. De Guzman, Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics of the 7th Infantry Division, expressed gratitude for the support, stressing the vital role of such vehicles during crises.
“Taos-puso po kaming nagpapasalamat sa ibinigay ninyong Patient Transport Vehicle. Rest assured po na ito ay pangangalagaan namin at gagamitin sa tamang layunin,” he said.
Since the program’s launch, PAGCOR has distributed 40 PTVs nationwide to local governments, hospitals, and frontline units as part of its broader socio-civic initiatives.
