Broadcast journalist Jessica Soho is set to headline the 2025 Global Youth Summit (GYS), the country’s biggest youth gathering, which will take place on 28 July at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The multi-awarded media personality will share insights drawn from her decades-long career, offering young Filipinos a rare opportunity to learn from one of the most trusted names in journalism.

“For over four decades, I’ve had the privilege of telling the stories of our nation—its struggles, triumphs, and everyday heroes. At the Global Youth Summit, I hope to pass the torch to the next generation—so they may tell their own stories with courage, compassion, and a deep commitment to truth," Soho said.

Also gracing the summit is GMA star Barbie Forteza, whose breakout roles in Maria Clara at Ibarra and Pulang Araw have made her a symbol of empowered youth in media. Forteza will share her own journey and reflections on passion and purpose. Her upcoming film P77 (Penthouse 77) is also expected to serve as a touchstone for young dreamers pursuing their goals in creative industries.

“As someone who grew up in front of Filipino audiences, it’s an honor to share my journey with young people—especially at an event like this, where we celebrate ambition, passion, and purpose,” Forteza said.

Joining the roster of speakers is Jica Sy, Sustainability Champion of the SM Group, who will highlight the role of youth in building greener, more inclusive communities. The summit will also welcome Tony Devine, Vice President for Education at the Global Peace Foundation, who will offer global perspectives on youth leadership and peacebuilding.

Adding a burst of energy to the day’s program is rising OPM band Over October, set to perform live to close the event with music and celebration.

Organized by the Global Peace Foundation and SM Cares, the summit underscores a continuing commitment to youth empowerment through education, civic engagement, and innovation. The 2025 edition promises meaningful talks, dynamic activities, and surprises designed to engage and uplift the youth sector.
