100 students embark on purpose-driven internship with Ayala Group

The Ayala Group recently launched its 2025 Summer Internship Program, welcoming 100 students from top universities in the Philippines, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada to a transformative six-week experience focused on both professional development and personal growth.

Known as the Ayala Group Summer Internship Program (AGSIP), the initiative immerses students in real-world work across Ayala’s portfolio of companies, while also guiding them in identifying their own purpose and values.

“AGSIP is integral to our commitment to the development of next-generation talent not just for the Ayala Group but for the country,” said Ayala Corporation Chief Human Resources Officer Paco Milán. “The internship provides the students not just practical, on-the-job experience in Ayala companies but also guides them in identifying their own personal purpose and values that we believe should be at the core of their future pursuits.”

The interns kicked off their journey in June with an onboarding session that walked them through Ayala’s history and its evolution into one of the country’s most diversified conglomerates.

They have since visited the ACEN plant in Alaminos, Laguna and participated in a tree-planting activity, contributing nearly 500 fast-growing native trees to the local environment.

Throughout the program, students are also exposed to key leaders and business strategies across Ayala companies. In a recent masterclass, human resources executives from ACEN, Ayala Land Inc., BPI, and Globe discussed how their respective organizations embed purpose and values into day-to-day operations.

The interns are also being mentored on how to define their own purpose statements and personal core values — elements that Ayala believes should guide the country's future professionals.

Adding a layer of innovation, the internship includes a hackathon hosted by GCash in partnership with AWS and BPI. There, students will use generative AI and no-code tools to solve real-world challenges.

The six-week program will culminate in a final masterclass featuring four senior leaders from the Ayala Group, who will share how they apply the company’s core values in navigating strategic and high-stakes decisions.
