Hyundai reveals the IONIQ 6 N

The Goodwood Festival of Speed has always been a stage for standout debuts, and this year, Hyundai turned heads with the global reveal of the IONIQ 6 N, a fully electric performance car built for both everyday drives and weekend track sessions.

Unveiled in West Sussex, the IONIQ 6 N is Hyundai’s second all-electric N model after the IONIQ 5 N. It brings the same no-compromise attitude that has defined the N brand since its motorsport beginnings, with a sharper focus on agility, speed and driving feel.

At the heart of this car is Hyundai N’s “Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability, and Everyday Sportscar” philosophy. It’s a car that can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds using N Launch Control, with a top speed of 257 km/h. That kind of pace is not just for show; it’s backed up by a 650 PS output and 770 Nm of torque, made possible by two motors (one front, one rear) and an advanced thermal management system that helps it stay cool and ready, lap after lap.

Handling was another big focus. The IONIQ 6 N gets a completely reworked suspension setup with electronically controlled dampers and a lower roll center. Aerodynamics also play a huge part, with motorsport-style features like a swan neck rear wing and wider fenders helping to keep the car stable at speed.

Inside the car, there’s an ambient lighting system that flashes during gear shifts, and Hyundai’s N Active Sound+ system lets you choose different sound profiles, including sci-fi-inspired or motorsport-like audio. If you’re craving the feel of gear changes, the N e-Shift system simulates that too, bringing a bit of ICE car character to the EV experience.

Tech-savvy drivers will appreciate features like N Track Manager, which lets you record lap data and race against your own ghost car on a custom virtual track. There’s also an N Drift Optimizer, with adjustable settings for drift angle, throttle and more.

For enthusiasts who want to personalize their ride even further, Hyundai has introduced a line of N performance parts specifically for the IONIQ 6 N, a nod to the brand’s motorsport heritage.

The Goodwood Festival served as more than just a backdrop for the launch. Hyundai set up a booth close to the famous Hillclimb course, giving visitors a premium viewing spot to watch its cars in action. Models like the IONIQ 5 N TA Spec, i30 N, RN24, and various rally-spec machines joined the IONIQ 6 N on the course, while the N Moment showcase offered a dramatic group run of the brand’s electrified performance fleet.

As of now, Hyundai Motor Philippines has not confirmed if the IONIQ 6 N will be sold locally. While the car is making waves internationally, its availability in the country remains to be seen.

Pricing and regional market range figures are still under wraps, but for now, Hyundai has made a bold move into the future of performance driving, with enough tech and muscle to back it up.
