Ernest John Ohiena finished in seventh place after clearing 5.72 meters in the Monaco leg of the Diamond League at the Stade Louis II on Saturday (Manila time).
Obiena needed three tries to get over the bar he has yet to finish in the top three in any of the Diamond League legs this year.
He even tried to get over 5.82 meters but wasn't able to pull it off after three tries.
Armand Duplantis of Sweden fiinished with the gold after setting a new meet record of 6.05m.
Paris Olympics bronze medalist Emmamouil Karalis of Greece got the silver over Kurtis Marschal of Australia despite both pole vaulters clearing 5.92m.
