Man arrested after shooting stepfather in Pasay

The Southern Police District (SPD) on Monday confirmed the arrest of a male suspect in a case of frustrated murder involving the suspect’s family member. 

Authorities identified the suspect only as alias “Nicanor,” 32, who was apprehended by the Pasay City Police Station led by PCol. Joselito De Sesto around 7:37 PM on 5 July along E. Rodriguez Street in Barangay 165, Malibay.

Police said the man allegedly shot his 46-year-old stepfather earlier that afternoon inside their home on Ilang-ilang Street, Barangay 184, Maricaban

Responding officers from the Pasay City Police Station launched an operation hours after the shooting and were able to intercept the suspect with their Investigation and Detective Management Section and Sub-Station 7.

The suspect is detained at the IDMS Custodial Facility, pending formal charges.

Authorities are conducting follow-up operations to recover the firearm used in the attack.
