Continuous rainfall since Wednesday night led several cities in Metro Manila and nearby provinces to suspend face-to-face classes Thursday, shifting instead to asynchronous learning.
Most Metro Manila cities canceled afternoon in-person classes after the region was placed under a Yellow Rainfall Warning. Cavite suspended classes at all levels, while only selected cities in Laguna and Rizal announced suspensions.
As of the 5 p.m. advisory from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan and Zambales remained under a Yellow Rainfall Warning due to the southwest monsoon.
A low-pressure area (LPA) was last located over the coastal waters of Sabtang, Batanes, as of 2 p.m. Thursday. PAGASA indicated a medium chance of the LPA developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours.
