EPD reports 7.37% decrease in crime for June

Neil Alcober

The Eastern Police District (EPD) reported a substantial 7.37 percent decrease in crime for the month of June 2025, in line with Philippine National Police Chief General Nicolas Torre III’s five-minute response time program.

This achievement is attributed to intensified anti-criminality, anti-illegal drugs, and other focused law enforcement operations conducted across the cities of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan.

From 1 June to 30 June 2025, the average monthly crime rate dropped to 18.85 percent, a notable decline from 26.22 percent recorded from 1 May to 31 May 2025, translating to a 7.37 percent reduction.

Key accomplishments in the month of June include the arrest of top most wanted persons; the apprehension of 18 top most wanted persons, 27 most wanted persons, and 177 other wanted persons; the arrest of 188 individuals involved in illegal drug activities, with confiscated drugs valued at an estimated standard drug price of P11,283,964; the arrest of 119 individuals for illegal gambling, with P17,921 bet money seized; and the confiscation of 10 loose firearms and the arrest of 8 individuals related to illegal possession of firearms.

These accomplishments are the result of relentless operations, enhanced intelligence sharing, multi-sectoral partnerships, and sustained public engagement.
