Acer maintains top spot in Phl with 35.7% PC market share

Acer Philippines maintained its lead in the country’s personal computer market in the first quarter of 2025, securing a 35.7 percent market share, according to market research firm GfK.

The company also led in specific segments, capturing 34.2 percent of the consumer notebook market and an impressive 40.6 percent share in gaming laptops. In April alone, Acer’s notebook segment achieved a 36 percent market share, underscoring its continued dominance in the sector.

Acer credits its strong performance to strategic marketing efforts, particularly brand partnerships that boost local engagement. One standout collaboration is with SB19, the popular “Kings of P-pop,” whose ambassadorship has been instrumental in Acer’s branding campaigns since 2021.

“Our partnership with SB19 works because we share the same values and energy. Also, the group’s strong social media presence and its ability to create engaging content have allowed us to reach and connect with our customers,” said Sue Ong-Lim, Managing Director at Acer Philippines.

In May, Acer co-presented SB19’s “Simula at Wakas” world tour stop in Taiwan. During the visit, the group toured Acer’s Taipei headquarters, tested new product innovations, and received Predator Helios 18 gaming laptops from company executives. The members also took part in product workshops and design sessions at Acer’s experience center.

As the partnership enters its fifth year, both Acer and SB19 expressed enthusiasm for future collaborations that aim to keep the brand connected to younger audiences and tech-savvy consumers.
