Witness history through the powerful lens of Albert Garcia, one of the Philippines’ most celebrated photojournalists, as he brings his award-winning work to life in a rare and exclusive photo exhibit.

Running from 10 to 24 July at the Southwing of New Greenhills Mall, the showcase is part of this year’s Born in Film x Ortigas Art Festival and will feature never-before-seen photographs alongside Garcia’s most iconic images, including his legendary shot of the Mount Pinatubo eruption, a defining moment in the nation’s history.

Garcia, whose raw and emotional documentation of Philippine life has earned him accolades around the world, made history when his photograph was honored as one of Time Magazine’s Greatest Images of the 20th Century. The same image brought home the Philippines’ first Golden Eye Trophy from the World Press Photo Awards, the most prestigious honor in photojournalism.

Known for capturing the depth and emotion of real events, Garcia’s work goes beyond the frame — offering a moving reflection of the struggles, triumphs and humanity of the Filipino people.

This is a rare opportunity to experience the stories behind the headlines through the eyes of a master visual storyteller.
