President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday hailed the Philippine Air Force (PAF)'s crucial role in safeguarding the country’s peace and sovereignty.
Speaking during PAF's 78th founding anniversary in Pasay City, Marcos touted the Air Force's dedication to service to the country's aerospace defense.
Marcos lauded the Air Force as “credible, agile, and essential,” underscoring its vital role in both national security and humanitarian efforts.
“So I say this with great pride: the Philippine Air Force is a force in its own right. It is credible, agile, essential to our country’s aerospace defense,” the President said.
The President honored the Air Force’s legacy of excellence, forged through decades of discipline, sacrifice, and patriotism.
“Reaching this milestone is no small feat,” he said. “This was earned through discipline, determination, and unshakable devotion to protecting the people and the State.”
Marcos also highlighted the PAF’s critical role in disaster response and military support, citing its unwavering commitment even in the most challenging circumstances.
“It meant taking off to the skies even when the weather was inclement; bringing supplies to typhoon-ravaged areas when help was needed; providing support to troops on the ground when morale was at its lowest. It meant showing up with consistency, competence, and integrity,” said the President.
Further, Marcos urged Air Force personnel to remain steadfast in their mission as the organization adapts to evolving challenges.
“Focus PAF at 78 demands of us all to continue fulfilling this mandate with clarity of purpose and conviction,” the President noted.
“It is a reminder to stay committed to our mission—one that is strengthened with enhanced capabilities and enduring values.”
The Philippine Air Force was established on 1 July 1947, through Executive Order No. 94.
Since then, it has played a crucial role in safeguarding the nation’s skies and responding to the needs of the Filipino people.
