Novak Djokovic opened his Wimbledon campaign with a four-set win over France’s Alexandre Muller on Tuesday, kicking off his bid for a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title.

The 38-year-old Serb, seeded sixth, prevailed 6-1, 6-7 (7), 6-2, 6-2 on Centre Court.

After cruising through the first set, Djokovic dropped the second in a tiebreak but recovered quickly to dominate the final two sets.

Djokovic remains tied with Margaret Court at 24 Grand Slam singles titles and sees Wimbledon as his best chance to break the record. A seven-time champion at the All England Club, he’s aiming to match Roger Federer’s eight Wimbledon titles.

Having reached every final here since 2018, Djokovic faces rising challenges from top-ranked stars Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
