President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday led the inauguration of the Rice Processing System (RPS) II Facility in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.
The RPS II includes a multi-stage rice mill capable of processing two to three tons of rice per hour. It features advanced components such as a pre-cleaner, de-stoner, huller, mist polisher, length grader, color sorter, blending tank, automatic packing machine, rice hull bin, dust collection system, and an air-conditioned control room.
The facility is also equipped with two stainless steel recirculating dryers that can handle 12 tons per batch, along with essential tools, accessories, and a generator set for backup.
Nearly 6,000 farmers cultivating 9,200 hectares of land in the Science City of Muñoz are expected to benefit from the upgraded machinery.
In addition, farm equipment worth ₱31 million was distributed to 17 farmers’ cooperatives and associations (FCAs), including a four-wheel tractor with complete implements, 16 rice combine harvesters, and one handy cultivator.
Marcos reiterated his support for Nueva Ecija’s farmers and held a forum with farmers and fisherfolk to listen to their concerns.
“Congratulations to our famous farmers and fishermen and because you are the ones who support all our countrymen and you are the best farmers and fishermen. So congratulations to all of you!” he said.
“Thank you very much for your sacrifice. We know the life of a fisherman, the life of a farmer is not easy. And it is very difficult just to make a living, to feed not only our families, but also the entire Philippines,” he added.
The President assured farmers of continued government support during calamities and harvest seasons, promoting the growth of Philippine agriculture.
