Klarisse de Guzman finds her rhythm in her own time

Klarisse de Guzman has always been quietly consistent—her powerhouse vocals a steady presence, even as the spotlight often veered toward flashier peers. But in a candid interview with Boy Abunda, the singer peeled back the curtain on what it feels like to remain steady in an industry built for sprints.

“May mga times po talaga before na feeling ko napagiiwanan na ako,” Klarisse admitted. “’Yung mga kasabayan ko po is bongga na ng career. Ako, napagiiwanan na, steady lang.”

It’s a moment of honesty that resonates not only with artists but with anyone navigating their own path while watching others seemingly soar ahead. For Klarisse, though, quiet progress eventually gave way to personal breakthroughs.

“Iniisip ko na lang po nun, okay lang basta may work, basta may trabaho ako. Basta longevity— as long as nandiya-diyan ako,” she said. “Ang tinuro po sa akin nung mga panahon na ’yun is mas sipagan pa, mas galingan.”

A turning point behind closed doors

Ironically, the biggest turning point in her career came in one of the least likely places: inside the “Pinoy Big Brother” house. Known for revealing the personality behind the performer, the show allowed Klarisse to show a side of herself beyond the stage.

“Hindi na ako singer, komedyante na, at kung kusinera pa!” she quipped.

Audiences quickly warmed to her warmth and humor. It wasn’t just about notes and melodies anymore—it was about relatability, laughter, and heartfelt conversations. Klarisse’s visibility soared as viewers connected with her in a more personal way.

“That’s why thankful po ako sa PBB, kasi grabe, hindi ko po in-expect na now medyo mas nadagdagan ’yung nakakakilala,” she said.

Inside the house, Klarisse also formed an unexpected tandem with fellow housemate Shuvee Etrata, affectionately dubbed “ShuKla” by fans. The chemistry between the two became a lighthearted highlight of the season.

“Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng sumuporta at nagmahal sa amin ni @shuveeetrata as team ShuKla. Di man kami pinalad, masaya naman po ang puso namin dahil sa inyong lahat. Grabe kayo mga mowms!” Klarisse wrote on social media.

Thankful and recharged

While Klarisse didn’t win the grand prize, she left with something more valuable: clarity and connection. In a heartfelt post, she also gave a shoutout to Big Brother himself.

“Thank you so much @pbbabscbntv sa napakasaya at ’di malilimutang experience na ’to. Maraming salamat po, Kuya! Totoo ngang may magic ang bahay mo. Kuya, I love you 3x a day!”

With renewed energy and a growing fanbase, Klarisse is more grounded than ever. She’s no longer chasing the pace of others—she’s walking her own, full of gratitude, grit, and grace.

“Talagang may kanya-kanyang timing lang po talaga,” she said.

And now, Klarisse de Guzman’s time is unmistakably unfolding—one raw moment, one laugh, and one note at a time.
