Rizal police nab four most wanted in one day

Police in Rizal province arrested four of the area's most wanted fugitives in separate operations on Tuesday, including suspects in drug and attempted murder cases.

The first suspect, a 72-year-old man known by the alias "Teodulo," was apprehended around 8:30 OM in Barangay Macabud, Rodriguez. He faces two counts of attempted murder, with a recommended bail of P200,000, based on a warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 75 in San Mateo.

According to police, the charges stem from a June 14, 2019 incident in Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, where "Teodulo" and an accomplice allegedly opened fire on two men cleaning a motorcycle near a junkshop. One of the victims was hit by a stray bullet in the leg. The suspects reportedly fled toward Barangay San Isidro.

In Jalajala town, police arrested a 31-year-old suspect identified only as “Mhelvin” at around 4 PM. He was nabbed on the strength of a no-bail arrest warrant for illegal drug charges.

Another drug suspect, alias “Shan,” 22, was arrested in Binangonan at around 3 PM also on a no-bail warrant.

Later in the evening, at around 7:20 PM., a 57-year-old tricycle driver known as “Benjie” was served a warrant by the Tanay police while already under custody at the town’s custodial facility. He is also facing drug charges under Republic Act 9165, with no bail recommended.

All suspects are currently detained at the respective police stations that arrested them, pending notification of the issuing courts.
