MPower, the retail electricity supply unit of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), has renewed its supply agreement with the Gokongwei Group, expanding its coverage to include more of the conglomerate’s major facilities across Luzon.

The renewed contract, which builds on a partnership that began in 2013, now covers key JG Summit companies — including Robinsons Land Corp., Cebu Pacific, Universal Robina Corp., JG Summit Olefins Corp., RL Commercial REIT, Inc. — and also includes Robinsons Supermarket Corp. of Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc.

“This agreement goes beyond securing a reliable power supply — it represents our collective commitment to sustainability and innovation. With MPower as our partner, we are able to integrate a 60 percent renewable energy solution into our operations,” JG Summit Holdings President and CEO  Lance Y. Gokongwei said.

“This is a meaningful step forward in our journey to reduce our environmental impact while continuing to serve Filipino communities through our businesses,” he added.

Separately, Meralco Chairman and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan said the partnership goes beyond business as the companies share commitment to nation-building.

“This partnership with JG Summit Holdings, through MPower, reflects that shared purpose as we work together to empower communities and contribute to a stronger, more sustainable Philippines,” Pangilinan added.
