The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) celebrated its 127th founding anniversary on Monday, 23 June, under the theme "Kaagapay sa Pag-unlad para sa Bagong Pilipinas."
In his message, DPWH Secretary Manual Bonoan said this year's theme "reflects our enduring commitment to be a vital partner in shaping a better, more progressive Philippines."
"Under the banner of the Bagong Pilipinas brand of leadership and governance, we remain steadfast in advancing our infrastructure flagship projects, improving public service delivery, and upholding the values of integrity, efficiency, and innovation in everything we do," Bonoan said.
"We take pride in the milestones we have achieved together, and the consistently high public trust ratings from independent survey organizations," he added.
Serving as the country's engineering and construction arm, the DPWH was first born as the Bureau of Public Works and Highways or "Obras Publicas" in 1868.
