Ivy Manzon-Bo reacted to Marian Rivera’s interview with Karen Davila, where she said she has forgiven those she fought with because of her husband, Dingdong Dantes.

“Maishare ko lang. Circa 1998 pa ’to. Away bata ito kumbaga. Napanood ko buong interview niya and natawa lang ako sa sinabi niya about sa mga babaeng inaway niya, dahil sa mga issues with Dong (Just to share. It’s Circa 1998. It’s a kid’s quarrel. I was able to watch her entire interview, and I was laughing when she talked about the women she fought with because of issues with Dong),” Rivera’s classmate initially wrote in her now deleted post on Facebook.

“So eto na, share ko na. 2nd HS SFACS Bayanan. ‘Yung binuhasan ako ng softdrinks at sinabunutan ako noong high school sa maling balitang nakarating sa kanya (This is it, just want to share. 2nd year high school at SFACS Bayanan.  When softdrinks were poured on me and my hair was pulled during high school because of the fake news, which reached her),” Rivera’s former high school classmate recalled.

The aftermath?  Both she and Rivera ended up in the guidance counselor’s office and got suspended from the class for a week and cleaned the canteen, and were removed from varsity.

“Pinatawad na kita, Marian Rivera Gracia. Ang dahilan kasi, mahilig kasing maniwala sa chismis (I’ve forgiven you, Marian. The reason is, you always believe gossips),” Rivera’s classmate wrote.

Manzon-Bo claims Rivera is “a good friend (from) way back and they were “seatmates.” They were in a dance group and varsity team until one classmate tried to ruin her and the Kapuso actress believed her.

Why Maris Racal enjoys Taipei Film Festival

MARIS Racal

Incognito star Maris Racal tremendously enjoyed her experience while gracing the 27th Taipei Film Festival, representing her movie, Sunshine.

“Every time we have a new premiere, I always look forward to meeting the audiences. It’s exciting to see new perspectives about our movie,” she told this writer online.

“I love the energy of the audience, post-screening, I was able to talk to some of them and had a few interesting conversations with them,” she added.

Racal came to the festival in a jaw-dropping black and white ankle-length terno that is paired with a stylishly over-sized skirt by designer AJ Javier.

In the Q&A segment, Racal explained how she trained for her role as a  gymnast: “I trained for about one year, but on and off. I met a rhythmic gymnast coach and a rhythmic gymnast. She’s also an athlete. She’s part of the national team. She taught me everything on the basics and the demeanor, and the mindset of an athlete.”

Sunshine won the Crystal Bear for Best Film at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival after its premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.

The movie is showing only in SM Cinemas starting July 23.

Reign Parani welcomes joining pageants again

REIGN Parani

Reign Parani welcomes the idea of joining beauty pageants again after her second runner-up win at the Bb. Pilipinas 2023.

This came when Parani was asked during the mediacon for the   sports drama Love at First Spike.

Parani plays Farrah Salcedo in the series who is about to leave the volleyball team as a captain.

“Of course, there are still plans,” she initially said.

“But as I grow older, I realize that there’s so much more intention to everything that you do. I’m doing everything I can to join pageants with purpose and with organizations I trust,” she said, hoping she could represent the Philippines in the international pageant in the future.

Love at First Spike marks Parani’s first lead role, which gets entangled in a seemingly bizarre love triangle with Uno Santillan (Emilio Daez) and Jared Aragon (Sean Tristan).

Also in the cast are Luis Alandy, Meryll Soriano, River Joseph, Rain Celmar, Andi Abaya, Dylan Yturralde, Sky Quizon, Lance Reblando, Binsoy Namoca and Bong Gonzales.

Directed by Andrew Ivan Payawal, the series will be streamed on iWantTFC.
